Mission

Initial interests do not always turn out to be one's passion. I developed my true desire for a career in nutrition after I graduated from Fordham University with a business degree and pursued a career in law. After several years of employment as a paralegal, I found that legal work did not inspire me. I began to investigate a career in nutrition since I always had an interest in food nutrients and a craving to create healthy meals. I quickly realized that I would fulfill my aspirations by becoming a registered dietitian. I began working towards acceptance into the Didactic Program in Dietetics and Masters of Science in Nutrition at Hunter College. The past several years of indulging in nutrition studies and experiences have strengthen my commitment to dietetics. I could not be happier with my decision to change career paths.

I constantly strive towards my professional and personal goals on a daily basis.  My immediate goal is to practice in an inpatient setting to strengthen my clinical skills. Then I plan to obtain the Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Diabetes Educator credentials and focus on women’s health.  While a student, my clinical volunteer position, coupled with my Human Development course, deepened my interest in women's health and prenatal care. I am fascinated with the role of nutrition in preconception, prenatal, postpartum, lactation and menopause care. Whether I eventually start my own private practice or work as clinical dietitian specializing in women’s health, my long term goal is to further my knowledge and education while incorporating women’s health into my field of practice.  I truly love to learn and see myself advancing my knowledge through a second masters in maternal and child nutrition or a doctorate degree.
